Visit Kuala Lumpur National Zoo, We Promise We Will Not Bite...Much

You have to check out the Kuala Lumpur National Zoo if you are going to visit Malaysia in the near future and are thinking of things to see and do. It is also referred to as Zoo Negara; so do not get confused if someone tells you how to get there instead of what you asked for, it is the same place. Do not ask why they have two names for this place, must be to confuse us all. As if being in another country is not confusing enough.

The zoo has done a great job of keeping things in their natural environments, which makes for a different experience if you are used to American zoos where the animals do not appear to be all that happy.

The Kuala Lumpur National Zoo has all sorts of different animals. From, birds to reptiles and everything in between. They had snakes that could kill you instantly.

Zoo Negara is pretty much the only one in Kuala Lumpur, so they have a lot to offer their visitors. Being situated on over one hundred acres of land, and housing over four thousand animals. However, maintenance is not a priority at this zoo so it can be hard to see all the animals.

On top of all the neat creatures you will get to see, you can stay a while longer and enjoy a nice show. They put on a great elephant show, where they let the kids ride them. You will also have a chance to grab a bite to eat throughout the zoo, as they have plenty of stands set up for the visitors. p>The zoo has been open for nearly fifty years, and was the first National Zoo in Kuala Lumpur. Do not worry you will not have to do any extensive traveling, as it is only a few minutes outside the city of Kuala Lumpur.

With four hundred and sixty different species of birds, mammals, reptiles and fish, you will have a day of fun at the zoo. Even though it is not that different from what you have seen at other zoos it is an exciting adventure to go on when you visit Malaysia. If you cannot find time to visit it during the day, be sure to check out the Zoo By Night where you can tour the zoo while the lights are out. This makes the adventure even more exciting.

Connected to the Kuala Lumpur National zoo is the aquarium. They have a great fresh water fish exhibit to check out. It is neat to hear the history of the zoo because it started out as such a small attraction and has only gained momentum since it opened in 1963.

Where the zoo is situated makes for a neat feature, as it looks like a zoo in the middle of a jungle due to the thick foliage that covers the surrounding area. p>There have been talks of moving the zoo, but it has recently been protected by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment. It is said that the only reason why they wanted to move it is because the land is worth so much more now then it was when the zoo was first developed.
